PictureHold, 2015
The labourer, the surface and the connection with its tools and materials are all individual in their relationships. This layered execution of labour plays on the individual, the community and the paths travelled by us all.

My focus is to explore the individuals who dedicate their lives to this engineering.  To work with the materials used in this endeavour.  To enquire into the lives that are connected through their families.  To highlight through painting, the beauty in this form and all its aspects.

This makes for a community recognised by the few, but imperative for the masses.  It is with this in mind that the layers in Labour are many and the identities creating this complex web of workers are to be recognised.
